Did you know that only 2% of the dentists in the United States are specialists in Prosthodontics? Dr. Lima is one of them and has quite an interesting story too.
Around 1997, while attending Dental School in Brazil, Dr. Lima was exposed to the Portuguese Edition of a book called “A Philosophy of the Practice of Dentistry” – written by an American dentist called Lindsey Dewey Pankey (1901-1989). As a young dental student in his formative years, Dr. Lima made that book the guiding light of his career.
The Aristotelian principles depicted in the book became a national and international success in Dentistry. By believing that success is a progressive realization of a worthy ideal, Dr. Lima became a relentless student of its principles:
Dr. Lima set out on this personal and professional developmental journey that would ultimately bring him to the United States. He got accepted and graduated from a highly-competitive 3-year Residency Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham – School of Dentistry. He also graduated from a 1-year Implant Training Program in the same University of Alabama.
In the process of realizing his ideals and becoming the best version of himself, Dr. Lima has won national prizes like First Place at the 2020 American Equilibration Society Meeting in Chicago, and the Ozzy Asbjornson Scholarship for emerging leaders in the field of Dentistry at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida.
Dr. Lima embodied the magic of giving nothing less than your best and the importance of providing individualized care to his patients, making their visits comfortable, predictable and safe. Dr. Lima is married to Marcela and they have two boys: Enzo (14y.o.) and Gabriel (9y.o.). They enjoy traveling, sports and being in contact with nature and having fun with their mini–Schnauzer Frank.
